Did you all watch the Oscars? I sure did! Spent 5 hours on Sunday watching the entire thing including the red carpet. It’s weird, I normally don’t watch it and try and stay away from it because I know it’s a long show. But I was watching the show and as I was flipping through the channels I came across the Oscars, they were just starting the red carpet.
It’s like once you start watching you can’t stop. And really, the part that I cared about was the last 5 minutes of the Oscars, but hey that’s how they hook us, right? I have to admit though, I really love Ellen DeGeneres, I think she’s hilarious.
So let’s talk about the Oscars. Ellen of course was funny, and there were lots of funny moments. Unfortunately out of all the movies nominated I had only seen Gravity, because as you may know I’m a sci-fi buff and I thought it would be a good movie because I’m also a Sandra Bullock fan. Now I don’t want to make this post about Gravity, nor do I want to spoil it for anyone, but honestly, for me it was one of the most boring movies I had ever seen. And I watched it twice, I wanted to like it, and I saw it in 3D. It just didn’t do it for me.
Now as I said there were a lot of funny moments, my favorite one being when Ellen took a selfie picture with some very famous people and tweeted it. Her goal was to break the world record with the most retweets, and she sure did, she had over 2 million retweets and not only that but she managed to crash Twitter. Gotta love it.
Ellen spent a lot of time in the audience with the nominees, and she even ordered pizza for them. When the pizza delivery guy came she brought him on stage and into the audience. I can just imagine how overwhelmed that guy must have felt. What a moment, wish I was him there for a few minutes.
Of course I can’t ignore the time that John Travolta totally butchered Idina Menzel’s name, he wasn’t even close. By the way, I love that song “Let it go”, I watched Frozen and I loved it, what a great movie and the music is just amazing.
Here are some more funny moments.
