So being the analyst that I am, I put my thinking cap on and … [Read more...]

Butterscotch Magic Cake

I love long weekends. In Canada we celebrated Family Day and in the States President's day. Pretty much all weekend I did nothing but putz around the house, and watched Once Upon a Time on Netflix. I'm obsessed with this show now. If you get Netflix watch it, it's awesome. Besides watching Netflix I've been answering a lot of questions on making Magic Cake and Chocolate Magic Cake from you my dear and loyal readers. Since I didn't have step by step pictures with the other two recipes, I … [Read more...]

Homemade Nutella Frappuccino

Nutella and I have a very close relationship. We've been together for a very long time, don't want to say exactly how many years because then you'll know my age, but let's just say since I was a kid. My husband also has a very tight relationship with Nutella. As a matter of fact, he thinks Nutella is medicine. He has a teaspoon of Nutella after every meal. You know the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away, well in our household it's a teaspoon of Nutella a day keeps the doctor … [Read more...]

Pasta Shells with Cauliflower Alfredo Sauce

You've probably seen cauliflower alfredo sauce recipes all over the internet. It seems to be all the rage now, or it has been and I'm just now noticing. Anywho my point is, I got curious and I wanted to see what all the rage is about, so I decided to take a stab at this special cauliflower alfredo sauce and make my own, maybe a little bit different to make it my own, because that's what I love to do. Now classic alfredo sauce is basically just butter and Parmesan cheese, so obviously the … [Read more...]

Chocolate Magic Cake

Well I finally did it! I finally made the chocolate version of this delightful magic cake. The original version was very popular and a lot of people were asking about different flavors, so I decided to give it a go and see how it turns out. Well I knew it couldn't be bad, because I loved the original version so chocolate magic cake could only make it better. I also found out that the origin of this cake is from Romania, and the actual name of the cake is intelligent cake because of how it … [Read more...]

Magic Cake

Magic Cake! Where do I begin? I started out very skeptical when I saw this cake on The name intrigued me at first. I had to click to see the recipe just to see why this cake is called magic cake, because there really is no such thing. Unfortunately the recipe was in another language, but there's always google translator, the only problem is you know you always lose something in the translation. But not to worry, it was enough for me to realize why this cake is called magic cake. If … [Read more...]

Mango Lassi

mango lassi-1-3

Happy Valentine's Day my friends! I hope you're all enjoying this special day with that special someone you love. ;) You know what would be perfect for this day, is my sex in a pan dessert. But today I'm sharing a mango lassi recipe that we make often here and we love. To this day I remember the first time I went to an Indian restaurant and had my first mango lassi. I had never had one before and thought it was fabulous. Since then I've learned to make it myself and it's one of those … [Read more...]

Thai Chicken Bites

thai chicken bites-1-2

A few months ago I discovered Frank's hot sauce. Yep, I know they've been around for awhile now but I am not one that likes spicy food so that Tabasco sauce was hardly ever used. But I've been seeing the commercials on TV and thought they were cute so I bought it. To my pleasant surprise I really liked it, it taste so much better than Tabasco. I also noticed that they have many different kinds of hot sauces so we got a few different types of bottles. One of these bottles I got was this sweet red … [Read more...]

Not Yo’ Mama’s Banana Pudding

not yo mama's banana pudding-1-11

You know when you come across something that completely and pleasantly surprises you? This is what this pudding did for me! This banana pudding is genius. It sort of reminds me of a Napoleon type of dessert. It's so good, I can't even describe it. I'm ashamed to admit I've never had banana pudding before though so I can't really compare it with another banana pudding, but this pudding is right up there with Sex in a Pan. It is out of this world. This is Paula Dean's recipe. I love this … [Read more...]

Grape Clafoutis

grape clafoutis-1

About a year ago I discovered this wonderful French dessert, the clafoutis or sometimes spelled as clafouti. It is now one of my favorite desserts to bake in the summer. I have made this with cherries and apricots before. This is the first time I made it with green grapes and I believe this is my favorite version of it. It is such a beautiful and delicious dessert, just thinking about it now, makes me wish I had a slice in front of me. Normally the clafoutis is made with black cherries with … [Read more...]

Banana Nut Muffins

banana nut muffins-1-3

Muffins are probably one of the first things I learned to make, but I still remember the days when I used to buy the muffin mix and use that to make muffins. Little did I know how easy the batter really is to make. I love to make all sort of muffins, but probably the most popular muffins I make are these banana nut muffins. For these muffins I wanted them to have a bigger top, so in order for this to happen your batter needs to be thicker than usual muffin batter. The other thing you'll need … [Read more...]

Fluffy Mozzarella Biscuits

fluffy biscuits-1

I've finally made the perfect biscuit. I don't know what was in my head to make a mozzarella biscuit. Well I'll tell you what. Personally I like mozzarella cheese over cheddar cheese, and that's the only cheese I had. Usually I make these biscuits with buttermilk, but I didn't have any, so I used regular milk. I wasn't sure how these puppies were going to turn out, but I was going for a big and fluffy biscuit. And that's what I got! Look at the size of this biscuit. And boy was it good. To … [Read more...]
