Finnish Cardamom Rolls

A few years ago when I visited my mother in law in Romania, she taught me along with my sister in law how to make our popular walnut bread. I had written the recipe in my little notebook I had taken with me to write all my mother in law's recipes and have treasured it since, as well as have shared it with you all. Ever since then I have conquered one of what has to be a miracle in the culinary world. I have learned to make that walnut bread myself. I have been scared of making it all my life. … [Read more...]

Garlic Basil Knots

I remember a time when I never baked. Not even for such simple things as muffins. My idea of baking was to buy muffin mixes and mix them with water or whatever was required and bake them. I always liked to bake but I guess I never really knew what to bake or how to bake. Well that was a long time ago, and since then I've baked my share of muffins, bread rolls and other goodies. But even now, I would say I'm a shy baker. I guess what I mean by that, is that I'm not sure that people will like … [Read more...]

I love the smell of bread baking in the oven, it's truly a therapeutic experience for me. Of course that experience is much more appreciated when I actually bake something that turns out great, when your rolls are so delicious and so good, you have to eat them hot right out of the oven.
