Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon butter melted
  • 2 egg whites
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • 4 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  • Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Pour the butter and spread it over a baking sheet.
  • Toss: In a large bowl, mix the egg whites, sugar and cinnamon. Add the pecan halves and toss until they are fully coated.
  • Bake: Spread the pecans onto the baking sheet evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes. Check after 20 minutes of baking to make sure they don't burn.
  • Cool and serve: Cool on the baking sheet for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Try out different spices! I used a simple cinnamon spice blend, but you can try other spices such as Cloves, nutmeg, and ginger, or go for a spicier alternative with Chili powder, Cayenne and Black pepper! You can mix and match to create a new, fun batch every time.
  2. Make sure the pecans have fully cooled down to room temperature before storing. You can leave them covered or uncovered at room temperature for 1 week.
  3. If you store them in the fridge or freezer, it's best to seal them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They will last 3 weeks in the fridge or 2 months frozen.
