Pizza Bubble Ring or Pizza Monkey bread is your next favorite snack with a surprise pepperoni inside each piece of this pull apart bread.

Don’t you love summer? I believe it is officially summer. If only it would stop raining here in Calgary. Soon enough. June is our rainy month and then sunshine for the rest of the summer. Winters are so long here in Calgary that all I can think of for most of the year are the months of July and August. These two months are what makes living in Calgary worth while. I really think that Calgary is the best place in the world to live in during July and August. So I guess you suffer 10 months out of the year, to have bliss for a couple months.

Makes sense. Right?

I recently came across www.pillsbury.com and I never knew they had recipes on their site, but they do, quite a few of them actually. One of them was this wonderful pizza bubble ring.

Who knew you could make so many things with biscuit dough. I can see this pizza bubble ring being a total success with children. I mean, how could it not be, it was quite a big hit with the adults here. The only thing I changed about this recipe is I didn’t pour the leftover butter over the bubbles, and the reason was that I thought it would make the bubbles too greasy. I’m glad I didn’t, there’s enough flavor there already and dare I say it, enough fat.

Part of the Pizza Bubble Ring ripped open on a plate exposing pepperoni and cheese

Maybe another little change I could have done is add a bit more cheese to them, but nevertheless they were fantastic. There is cheese in this just a bit hard to see, that’s why I said I would have like to add a little bit more cheese.

Dip them in a little pizza sauce and you’ve got yourself a top notch meal!

Well meal, snack, or appetizer, whatever you want.

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Spray 12-cup fluted tube pan with cooking spray.
  • In small bowl, mix melted butter, Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  • Separate 1 can of dough into 10 biscuits; press or roll each into 3-inch round. Place 2 pepperoni slices in center of each biscuit round. Top each with piece of mozzarella cheese. Bring dough up around filling; press edge to seal and shape each into ball. Roll in butter mixture; place 10 balls in pan.
  • Sprinkle dough balls with Parmesan cheese. Repeat with remaining can of biscuits, placing balls over balls in pan.
  • Bake 33 to 38 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Gently loosen bread from sides of pan. Place large heatproof plate upside down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Remove pan.
  • Serve warm with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

Equipment

  • Nordic 12 Cup Bundt Pan

Hi, I would like to try them with homemade bread dough since pillsbury dough is nowhere to find here in Saudi Arabia. Thanks for posting this recipe and GOD BLESS YOU!
