Ingredients

For Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped

Meatballs in Beer Sauce with Leeks

  • 1 large leek cleaned and sliced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 11 ounce beer
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix all the meatballs ingredients together. Shape the meatballs into your preffered size. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet heat the olive oil and add the leaks to it. Saute leeks until tender.
  • Add meatballs to the skillet and cook until slightly browned on all sides.
  • Sprinkle the tablespoon of flour over the meatballs and stir them around in the skillet.
  • Add the beer and cook the meatballs in the beer until the alcohol evaporates. Add the cup of water, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook for another 30 minutes on medium heat. You will notice the sauce reduce and thicken.
