These delicious Sugar Pecans are an easy snack made with staple ingredients you'll already have on hand in your kitchen! 5 minutes of prep and you'll be well on your way to enjoying these perfectly spiced, sweet, and crunchy pecans.
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon ground
- 4 cups pecan halves
Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Pour the butter and spread it over a baking sheet.
Toss: In a large bowl, mix the egg whites, sugar and cinnamon. Add the pecan halves and toss until they are fully coated.
Bake: Spread the pecans onto the baking sheet evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes. Check after 20 minutes of baking to make sure they don't burn.
Cool and serve: Cool on the baking sheet for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Try out different spices! I used a simple cinnamon spice blend, but you can try other spices such as Cloves, nutmeg, and ginger, or go for a spicier alternative with Chili powder, Cayenne and Black pepper! You can mix and match to create a new, fun batch every time.
- Make sure the pecans have fully cooled down to room temperature before storing. You can leave them covered or uncovered at room temperature for 1 week.
- If you store them in the fridge or freezer, it's best to seal them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They will last 3 weeks in the fridge or 2 months frozen.
