For Meatballs
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
Meatballs in Beer Sauce with Leeks
- 1 large leek cleaned and sliced
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 11 ounce beer
- 1 cup water
- salt and pepper to taste
In a medium bowl, mix all the meatballs ingredients together. Shape the meatballs into your preffered size. Set aside.
In a large skillet heat the olive oil and add the leaks to it. Saute leeks until tender.
Add meatballs to the skillet and cook until slightly browned on all sides.
Sprinkle the tablespoon of flour over the meatballs and stir them around in the skillet.
Add the beer and cook the meatballs in the beer until the alcohol evaporates. Add the cup of water, and salt and pepper to taste.
Cook for another 30 minutes on medium heat. You will notice the sauce reduce and thicken.
