Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter unsalted, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls 1 package
  • ¾ pound deli ham thinly sliced, or leftover ham
  • ¾ pound swiss cheese sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Use a baking dish that's big enough to fit your buns.
  • Make butter mixture: To a small bowl, add the melted butter, mustard, garlic powder, poppy seeds, chives, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and whisk until combined.
  • Prepare rolls: Do not pull the rolls apart. Using a serrated knife, slice the rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom part in the prepared baking dish, cut side up.
  • Layer ingredients: Layer half the deli ham slices evenly over the buns. Next, layer all the cheese slices over the ham and top with remaining ham slices. Place the top of the buns over the sandwiches.
  • Brush with butter: Brush the butter over the buns evenly, if there's any leftover sauce just pour it over the buns evenly.
  • Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes covered then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes uncovered.
  • Finish and serve: Cut into individual sliders and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. If you don't like ham, feel free to change it up with any deli meat you like, such as turkey or chicken.
  2. Any type of ham will work, such as honey ham, smoked ham or even leftover ham.
  3. Make these sandwiches ahead of time and store them in the fridge covered with foil. When ready to bake, simply follow the instructions on how to bake them.
  4. Try different cheeses such as provolone or white cheddar.
  5. Store cooled leftovers by wrapping in plastic wrap and placing in an airtight container, or freezer bag. They can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  6. Wrap individually in plastic wrap; place in freezer-weight resealable plastic bag. Keep sandwiches in the freezer for up to 3 months. Place sandwiches in the fridge the night before to thaw and they are great for lunch. If you want them warm, pop them in the microwave for about 30 seconds or in the oven at350°F for about 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
