Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice from about 6 to 8 lemons
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • ice cubes
  • lemon slices
  • fresh mint

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the cooled sugar syrup, fresh lemon juice, and 3 cups of water. Stir well.
  • Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness as needed by adding more sugar or lemon juice.
  • Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
