Air Fryer Chicken Wings

These Air Fryer Chicken Wings are a weekly must at our house, crispy, juicy, and way easier (and healthier) than deep frying. Just a little oil, a bit of seasoning, and boom: pub-style wings without the mess.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings thawed
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C). However, whether or not you need to preheat really depends on your particular air fryer. So you will need to check the manufacturer's guide for your model.
  • Place the wings into a large bowl, then drizzle them with the olive oil, and season to taste with a bit of salt and pepper. Next, toss everything together until the wings are totally coated in the oil and seasonings.

  • Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer basket, put the basket back into the air fryer and cook them for 30 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking. It’s important to flip them to ensure that the chicken cooks evenly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Oil is optional. I use a little to help the seasoning stick and boost crispiness, but you can skip it if you prefer.
  2. Frozen wings? No problem. Just toss them in, you’ll need to separate them after 10 minutes and maybe add a few more minutes to the total cook time.
  3. Flip them! Don’t skip the flip halfway through, it’s how you get that even golden crunch.
  4. Batch it. If your air fryer’s on the smaller side, work in batches. The wings need space to crisp, or just toss them more often if you overcrowd (like I do).
