Ingredients

  • 1 wheel brie cheese about 8 ounces
  • 1 cup cranberries fresh or frozen
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup pecans chopped
  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped

To Serve

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Cook until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Place the brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small ovenproof skillet. Drizzle the top with honey. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the brie starts to ooze but still holds its shape.
  • Once out of the oven, immediately top the brie with the cranberry sauce, ensuring to spread it generously over the top. Sprinkle with the chopped nuts and garnish with fresh chives or green onions. Serve warm with crackers or slices of baguette.

Notes

  1. If using frozen cranberries, there's no need to thaw them before cooking; just add a few extra minutes to the sauce simmering time.
  2. The brie is best served immediately after baking while it's still warm and gooey, but you can reheat leftovers in the microwave in short bursts.
  3. For those with nut allergies, simply omit the pecans or substitute with a crunchy alternative like roasted pumpkin seeds.
