Steel Cut Oats
- 2 cups steel cut oats
- 3½ cups water
- 2 cups milk
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
To Serve
- banana sliced
- raspberries
- sliced almonds toasted
Add all the steel cut oats ingredients to your Instant pot and close the lid.
Set the valve to sealing and set the Instant Pot to Manual/High Pressure for 5 minutes. When the time is up, let the Instant Pot release naturally for 20 minutes then release remaining pressure. Remove the lid and stir everything together.
Serve with sliced banana, berries and toasted sliced almonds.
- Milk Selection: This recipe uses regular milk for creaminess, but feel free to substitute with almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free version.
- Sweetness Level: Adjust the maple syrup to your taste; honey or agave nectar can also be used as alternatives.
- Texture: For softer oats, increase the natural pressure release time. For firmer oats, decrease the NPR time slightly.
- Add-ins: This recipe is versatile! Consider adding dried fruits, chia seeds, or flaxseeds for added flavor and nutrition.
- Reheat: Leftover oats can thicken in the fridge. When reheating, simply add a splash of milk or water to bring them back to your desired consistency.
