- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 clove garlic minced
- ¼ cup tomato sauce
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 8 medium corn tortillas or flour tortillas
Optional Toppings
- 1 cup Mexican cheese blend shredded
- 1 avocado chopped
- pico de gallo
- romaine lettuce or iceberg, shredded
Cook Beef: Add the ground beef to a large skillet and cook over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any fat if necessary. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until aromatic.
Add Ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, chicken broth and taco seasoning. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for another 5 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Assemble & Serve: Assemble tacos by filling them with meat and desired tacos.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce the amount of fat you need to drain.
- Feel free to swap out the chicken broth with beef broth or water if needed.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave before assembling for extra flavor and pliability.
- Customize the tacos with your favorite toppings like salsa, sour cream, or jalapeños.
- Leftover taco meat can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
