Air Fryer Bacon For The Win
This recipe is a total game changer! I’ve made bacon many ways, I mean after all, it is my favorite food group – and don’t try to tell me bacon isn’t a food group, because I don’t believe you. So why is this Air Fryer Bacon better than other cooking methods? Let’s find out, you may never make bacon a different way again!
- Easy & Fast
- Versatile & Delicious
- Healthier Alternative
- Minimal Cleanup – Less Mess Than Other Methods
- Perfect Bacon Every Time
Using your air fryer to make bacon is so much easier and way less messy than making it on the stove top, microwave or oven! It’s as simple as popping it in and leaving it be!
Clean up is easy because all of the grease will drain right into the bottom reservoir, so you don’t have to worry about your bacon soaking up all that extra grease either! This recipe is fast, easy and produces perfect bacon every single time.
Ingredient Notes
- Bacon – You can use any type of bacon for this, turkey, chicken etc. Thick or thin cuts will both work, just keep in mind the thicker the bacon, the more time it will need to cook.
How To Bacon In The Air Fryer
- Cook Bacon: Place the bacon in the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 400°F. Set the timer for 5 to 8 minutes. If using a thin cut bacon, use 5 minutes, for thicker cut use closer to 8 minutes.
- Finish: Check it half way through, see if you need to re-arrange it around, so it fries evenly. After the timer goes off, transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined plate. Serve immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Use Different Types of Bacon?
Any type of bacon can be used for this recipe. If using a thin cut bacon, use 5 minutes, for thicker cut use closer to 8 minutes. If you want your bacon more crisp and well done, give it an extra minute or so.
What Can I Add To My Bacon?
There are definitely options when it comes to bacon, I know some people like to sprinkle their bacon with a little brown sugar or maple syrup for more of a candied bacon, so feel free to do that here.
Tips
- Make sure to not overcrowd your air fryer with bacon pieces or else they won’t cook evenly.
- Check the bacon half way through cooking to ensure you don’t need to reposition any pieces and your bacon is crisping to your liking.
- Depending on the cut of your bacon, you may need to adjust the cooking time. Thinner bacon will need less time, whereas thicker bacon will need to cook more.
- Make sure to transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined dish after cooking. This will ensure to soak up any excess grease left on the bacon.
- If you are doing more than one batch of bacon, be sure and empty the grease from the lower basket before starting the second batch.
Storing Leftovers
Leftover bacon will last in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can use your leftover bacon in many recipes like salad or sandwiches, so don’t throw it away!

I love my air fryer and this bacon is so scrummy and don’t waste the bacon drippings mop up with your bread
This sounds like such a great idea! My only concern is the grease possibly splattering up onto the heating element during cooking. Did you have any issues with that?
Nope, not at all. Maybe it’s an issue with the brand you’re using.
Thanks! It was just a concern as I read the recipe…now I’m definitely going to try it!
Will definitely be trying this, sounds easier than the oven – cleaner and faster, too. Now, for the sacrilege – who throws away bacon??? I’ve yet to ever have leftover bacon!!!
Same here, there’s always my husband around or a dog around to finish up leftover bacon. LOL
Looks good. But I notice you aren’t pre-heating the air-fryer. Seems like I read pre-heat in all the receipes….but happy not to. So just checking.
I used to think that, but then I read the manual of my air fryer, and no preheating is required. I believe the time actually includes whatever preheating is needed.
