Joe Montana’s Touchdown Guacamole – Truly the best guacamole I’ve ever had, just amazing. Bold delicious flavors, just what you need to enjoy the game.
Guacamole is one of those dishes that is pretty much a staple at my house. I make it often and serve it with all kinds of dishes, or just eat it as a snack with tortilla chips or crackers. But when I saw this guacamole on Noshing with the Nolands, I just loved the way this guacamole looked and immediately knew I had to try it. I’ve never added black beans and cheese to my guacamole before. Boy, have I been missing out on some great guacamole!
I’m the first one to admit I’m no sports fanatic and I didn’t even know who Joe Montana was, though I’ve heard the name before many times, it’s just that when it comes to football or any sport, I tune everything out. But if he’s the one that came up with this amazing recipe, then my hat’s off to you Mr. Joe Montana. This truly is the best guacamole I’ve ever had. Why haven’t I ever thought of adding cheese to my guacamole, or black beans. Now it makes perfect sense. Black beans and cheese are common Mexican ingredients, so yeah they are perfect in a guacamole. I only slightly changed the recipe besides quantities by using salt and pepper instead of garlic salt. For some reason I just didn’t like the idea of garlic salt in my guacamole and used instead sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
What can I say, we absolutely loved it. Although there are 4 portions here, hubs and I simply devoured this in no time at all with delicious baked tortilla chips. It’s a perfect appetizer for when you have company, or do as we did and have it for lunch. LOL
